We offer Atlanta residents two different options of residential air purifiers. Although similar, there are some slight distinctions between the CAP500-UV and CAP500-UVP models. We handle the installation process ourselves. We don’t hire third party contractors.

CAP500 Series Residential Air Purifiers

CAP500-UV Germicidal UV Model:
Hospital-Grade Technology for Your Home

Germicidal UV (UV-C) has been used to effectively control bacteria and other bioaerosols, and odors in hospitals, food processing and the pharmaceutical industry for more than 60 years. The CAP500-UV model brings this same powerful technology into your home.

Equipped with a powerful germicidal UV-C lamp that does not create ozone, the CAP500-UV provides best results when installed above the A-coil. This location allows the lamp to continuously irradiate bacteria, viruses and other microbes on the exposed surfaces of the coil fins with high levels of germicidal UV energy.

  • Hospital-grade germicidal UV-C lamp
  • Provides whole-house air purification
  • Installs directly in the central HVAC system
Residential Air Purifier

Add Germicidal UV or UV “Plus” Air Purification Technology to your Home’s HVAC System to Help Control Molds, Bacteria, and Odors

Each year millions of Americans suffer from allergic reactions to molds and bacteria commonly found in indoor air. The dark, damp confines of forced-air HVAC systems can provide a perfect breeding ground for mold, mildew, and bacteria to multiply, and potentially spew into the living space of your home when the HVAC fan is turned on.

Installing an Abatement Technologies® CAP500 Series UV Germicidal Air Purification Device into your home’s central HVAC system can help control the formation of mold, bacteria and other health-threatening microbes and unpleasant odors. CAP500 models convert the HVAC system into a “killing zone” where microorganisms are irradiated 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Installs in Minutes by a Professional Contractor

CAP500-UV Lamp Systems are sold and installed by professional contractors into the central air handler of the HVAC system. They can work either as a standalone UV air purifier, or are the perfect unit for adding germicidal UV protection to systems already equipped with high-efficiency particulate filtration.

State-of-the-Art Features of CAP500 Series Germicidal UV Lamps

High-Performance UV-C Lamp

CAP500 Series Central Air Purifiers are designed to destroy bacteria, molds and other health-threatening microbes that can live and multiply inside of a forced air heating and cooling system. These units feature a powerful 1,950 μw/cm2 @ 6” germicidal UV-C or UV “Plus” lamp that can also break down and neutralize many VOC’s (Volatile Organic Compounds) and unpleasant odors.

Easy Monitoring Enhances Lamp Performance

The CAP500 Series includes a visual indicator that monitors the status and performance of the UV lamp:

  • Green Light: Lamp is operating within an acceptable range
  • Red Light: Lamp should be replaced immediately

Safety First

CAP500 Series UV Lamps have been tested and certified to comply with applicable UL and CSA standards by Environmental Testing Laboratories.

CAP500-UVP for Ultra-High
Performance in Wet, Damp Areas

The UV “Plus” lamp in the CAP500-UVP model combines high-performance germicidal UV-C irradiation and ozone. This model is designed especially for homes with odor problems related to sources such as water issues, smokers, pets or wood burning stoves.

The ozone produced reacts with odors and dissipates within the ductwork so ozone levels are not increased within the occupied living space.

  • Dual output germicidal UV-C “Plus” lamp
  • Provides added effectiveness against odors
  • Installs directly in the central HVAC system

CAP600 Series Residential Air Purifiers

CAP600-UV Residential Air Purifier
  • Convert Your Home HVAC System into a Hospital-Grade HEPA Filtration System
  • HEPA Filtration can remove at least 99.97% of microscopic airborne particles @ 0.3 microns in size
  • Multiple filtration stages remove particles far too small to be captured by most types of filters
  • The ultimate indoor air quality (IAQ) solution for homes equipped with forced air HVAC systems
  • Bring relief to family members who are sensitive to airborne allergens
  • Germicidal UV (UVGI) lamp technology irradiates and helps control mold spores and bacteria

Convert Your Central HVAC System into a Hospital-Grade HEPA Filtration System for Your Entire Home

Allergists, pediatricians, and other healthcare professionals often recommend state-of-the-art HEPA (High-Efficiency Particulate Air) filtration technology to remove microscopic pathogens, allergens, and irritants from the air in their patient’s homes. Why? First, more than 99% of the particles suspended in indoor air are less than one micron (0.0000004 inches) in size, far too small to be captured by most types of filters or seen by the naked eye. Second, particles this tiny have been identified by scientists at the U.S. EPA and elsewhere as potentially “lung damaging”, because they are small enough to bypass our defense mechanisms and lodge deep in our lungs.

Abatement Technologies® CAP600 Series and CAP1200 Series Central Air Purifiers, with True HEPA filters, are so efficient they can remove at least 99.97% of these microscopic airborne particles (@ 0.3 microns in size), including those that can trigger asthma and other allergic reactions. All CAP600 Series and CAP1200 Whole-House HEPA Air Cleaners feature multiple filtration stages to remove particles, plus an activated carbon filter to remove odors and some VOC’s (Volatile Organic Compounds). Top of the line models are also equipped with germicidal UV (UVGI) or UV “Plus” lamp technology to irradiate and help control bacteria and mold spores present in the air stream or trapped on the HEPA filter.

The CAP600-UV model is equipped with:

  • Stage One – A pre-filter for capturing larger dirt particles

The CAP600-UVP model is equipped with a unique dual-frequency lamp that generates both germicidal UV and a controlled amount of trivalent oxygen (ozone) via an oxidation reaction called photolysis for enhanced effectiveness against odors caused by mold and fungal growth, odor problems or heavy smokers. It generates a controlled amount of ozone gas designed to neutralize odor producing compounds. The ozone gas breaks down quickly and then dissipates inside the HVAC ductwork.

The CAP600-UVP model is equipped with:

    • Stage One – A pre-filter for capturing larger dirt particles
    • Stage Two – A 2”-deep activated carbon filter for capturing smaller particles and odors
    • Stage Three – A 99.97% efficient true HEPA filter
