The Mad Hatter has specialized in chimney sweeping and cleaning since 1978. It is the first service that we offered in 1978 and we still continue to hone and improve our service for you. All chimneys should be inspected annually and swept when needed to remove byproducts such as soot and creosote. Our chimney sweep technicians are certified by the National Chimney Sweep Guild (NCSG), where they undergo thorough training and are qualified to handle all types of chimneys. All of our employees are drug tested and background checked for your safety.
It typically takes us between 45 minutes and 2 hours to clean your chimney. Inspection of the chimney and documentation mad add to the length of the visit. Different methods may be used to clean and sweep your chimney and fireplace, depending on the style and build of your chimney. Your chimney may be swept from the bottom up, or from the top down, depending upon the need and judgement of our qualified technicians.

We use state-of-the-art equipment to inspect and sweep 1st and 2nd story chimneys of all kinds. While sweeping your system, we ensure that your chimney is in working order. Video inspection camera equipment is used with every sweep to examine hidden parts of the flue, allowing for a more-thorough clean.
The Mad Hatter will clean your chimney with specially designed brushes and powered cleaning tools suitable for your chimney type. The type of residue being removed is also taken into account when deciding which equipment to use. Industrial vacuums are used for airborne dust control. Drop cloths and other measures are used as well to protect the your resident’s furnishings.

This year we had them clean our dryer duct. We had before and after pictures. I noticed an anomaly with the after picture of the pipe that goes from the inside duct line to the wall as an exhaust. I contacted Mad Hatter about my concerns. They understood and offered to have a team at my home to take care of my concern. Pepe (a 25 year employee at Mad Hatter) and his colleague came out to my home. They looked at the issue of my concern, addressed it with a replacement part and did a great job. Since the after picture showed the anomaly, they apologized for the inconvenience and provided the appropriate level of repair.
This level of responsiveness and addressing my concern in the manner it was performed, shows a level of customer service satisfaction in service. We will continue to use Mad Hatter on an annual basis and our one daughter that is local also uses their service annually.
You don't often see the level of service provided and my wife and I appreciate and want to recognize it. We highly recommend them for chimney and dryer duct services. We also purchased gas logs from them several years ago and they continue to perform great.
